Getting started
A guide on how to install Mirror and connect your first device.
Prerequisites
Before performing the steps below make sure that you have:
Connected an Apple TV to the screen you want to use.
Connected the Apple TV to the internet.
A internet connected device ready for browsing the web (computer/phone).
Create an account
The first step is to create an Mirror account at portal.mirrorsignage.io. This lets you access the Mirror Portal to manage all your connected screens.
Prepare your Apple TV device
The Apple TV device needs to be configured in order for the Mirror app to run continuously without interruptions. Screen saver, Sleep mode and Conference Room Display needs to be turned off to not interrupt your media content.
Disabling the screen saver:
Go to the “Settings” app.
Go to “General“.
Go to “Screen Saver“.
Go to “Start After“.
Select “Never“.
Disabling sleep mode:
Go to the “Settings” app.
Go to “General“.
Go to “Sleep After“.
Select “Never“.
Disabling conference room display:
Go to the “Settings” app.
Go to “AirPlay and HomeKit“.
Go to “Conference Room Display“.
Select “Off“.
Zoom and Overscan
If the edges of your content are not visible on your connected screen when using the Mirror app, this is due to overscan on your TV. You can adjust it via your TV's menu.
To assist, the Apple TV can display an image the help you with the calibration.
Adjusting the overscan:
On the Apple TV go to the “Settings” app.
Go to “Video and Audio“.
Go to “Zoom and Overscan“.
Adjust your TV's zoom or overscan settings to adjust the image so that you can see the "Full Screen" Area. There is nothing to adjust on the Apple TV, you have to use your TV's settings.
Download Mirror for Apple TV
Launch the "App Store" app on your Apple TV and then search for "Mirror digital signage" and download the Mirror app.
